From June 15 to 22, 2008, the 49th International Eucharistic Congress will be held in Quebec City, coinciding with the city's 400th Anniversary celebrations. The congress, whose theme will be "The Eucharist, gift of God for the life of the world", will consist of a number of public events including a closing mass.

Taking place from August 10 to 21, 2008, the 4th World Youth Congress brings 600 young people from across the globe to Quebec City, which will also be celebrating its 400th Anniversary. Youth are invited to come up with innovative development projects to help their communities and those chosen to participate send a representative to the conference in Quebec City.
