Quebec City Parks & Gardens

More commonly known as the Plains of Abraham, Battlefields Park groups together the Plains of Abraham and the Des Braves Park. Developed to honour the memory of both French and British combatants, the park features an interpretation centre, several gardens and monuments, the Louis S. St. Laurent Heritage House and Martello Tower 1.

Located in the Old Port district adjacent to the Centre d'Interpretation du Vieux-Port this public space was created in celebration of Quebec City's 400th anniversary and plays host to an array of events year-round. Permanent art exhibits and a multi-purpose pavilion venue are added highlights.

A colourful flower garden inside Battlefields park that blends French classical style with British-style beds. The garden has over 150 species of annuals, bulbs and perennials.

This 5000 sq m park is a celebration of the french language. 49 flags from french speaking countries can been seen within the park boundaries. It also provides a beautiful view down Parliament hill, as well as George V Square. See "Le Pigeonnier," the large fountain at the center of the park.

Located on one of New-France’s first concessions, domaine Maizerets is both a historic site and a vast landscape garden. This city-owned site offers cultural and educational exhibitions, tours of the floral gardens and the arboretum, concerts at the chau Maizerets and walking paths through the grounds. It is also the departure point of two major cycling trails, Corridor des Cheminots and Corridor du Littoral. In winter, skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding are offered with equipment rental and cloakroom.
