The Trans Canada Trail will be a shared-use recreation Trail that will wind its way through every Province and Territory. It will be the longest Trail of its kind in the world, spanning approximately 17, 898 kilometres.

Detailed Trail Information The Trans Canada Trail will be a shared-use recreation Trail that will wind its way through every Province and Territory. It will be the longest Trail of its kind in the world, spanning approximately 17, 898 kilometres.
The Trail will accommodate five core activities, walking, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling (where possible or desired). Activities such as in-line skating, dog sledding/kick sledding and canoeing (on the designated water routes) are also recognized. Many sections of the Trail will be wheel chair accessible (both motorized and self-propelled). On some selected portions of the trail, non-endorsed activities such as motor biking, all terrain vehicles (ATV's) and other types of motorized vehicles will be allowed.
